Fall in Love with Finance

If you were to ask me what I like to do for a hobby I’d say, studying finance! One of my goals for twenty seventeen is to become more financially fluent through self-education and by surrounding myself with financial news, economic content, and budgeting tips. Since beginning, I’ve fallen more in love with finances and I’m quite excited to expand my knowledge as time goes on! Following are some resources I have found helpful.

Learn the basics of personal finance through self-education:

CNN Money Essentials

Dave Ramsey Baby Steps

Wells Fargo Financial Education

Khan Academy Finance and Capital Markets

Better Money Habits from Bank of America

Become financially fluent and surround yourself with financial content:

Budgeting program blogs: YNAB | EveryDollar | Mint | Mvelopes

Tax filing blogs: H&R Block | TurboTax | 1040.com | Tax Slayer

Publications: CNNMoney | Wall Street Journal | Forbes | Time Money |  Business Insider

All things finances: InvestopediaWise Bread | Daily Worth | Nerd Wallet | The Simple Dollar | Smart Dollar | Daily Finance | Bigger Pockets | LearnVest | Consumerism Commentary | I Will Teach You To Be Rich

Lifestyle publications (their career + finance content): Darling Magazine The Achiever | The EveryGirl Career and Finance | Apartment Therapy Money | Real Simple Money | Art of Manliness Money and Career

Inspiration: The Minimalists | How Millenials Can Overcome Their 6 Biggest Financial Challenges (The Art of Manliness) | The Best Financial Decisions to Make in Your 20s (Darling Magazine)

There are also a plethora of economic podcasts, books, and personal blogs on frugal, minimal living that are easy to find when you start looking.

Each above source has their own social media accounts but personally, I have found it helpful to follow most through my LinkedIn account so as to keep financial and economic content separate from my personal social media.

Be inspired.
